How to Cancel Apple TV+ (Now Called Apple TV)
How to cancel Apple TV+, now called Apple TV, on iPhone, Mac, Apple TV 4K, Android, Windows or the web, plus Apple One, carrier and Peacock bundle cases.
Key takeaways
- Apple TV+ is now called Apple TV, so look for "Apple TV" in your subscriptions list.
- On iPhone or iPad, cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Apple TV → Cancel Subscription.
- On any computer, go to tv.apple.com, open Settings from your account icon, then Subscriptions → Manage → Cancel Subscription.
- If Amazon, Google Play, your carrier or the Apple TV and Peacock bundle covers it, cancel with that company, not Apple.
- If Apple TV comes with Apple One, you can't cancel it on its own; you change or cancel your Apple One plan.
To cancel Apple TV+ on an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Apple TV and tap Cancel Subscription. On a computer, go to tv.apple.com, select your account icon, choose Settings, scroll to Subscriptions, choose Manage and then Cancel Subscription.
One thing catches people out: Apple TV+ is now called Apple TV. Apple's support pages and press materials use the new name and describe the service as formerly Apple TV+, so that's the entry you're looking for in your subscriptions list.
If Apple TV comes through Amazon, Google Play, your phone carrier, the Apple TV and Peacock bundle or Apple One, the steps are different. Each case is covered below. Steps vary slightly by country, and Apple notes that cancelling works a little differently in Israel and South Africa.
Apple TV+ is now Apple TV: what changed#
Apple renamed the subscription in 2025. An Apple newsroom release from October 2025 refers to "the Apple TV subscription (formerly Apple TV+)", and Apple's support pages now simply say Apple TV.
What that means for you:
- The subscription is listed as Apple TV. You won't find "Apple TV+" in newer subscription lists.
- The app has the same name. The Apple TV app, where you watch, is also called Apple TV. Deleting the app does nothing to the subscription.
- The box has the same name too. Apple TV 4K is the streaming device. Cancelling the subscription doesn't affect the device, and you can still use it for other apps.
- Channels are separate. Other services you subscribe to inside the Apple TV app, such as add-on channels, are separate subscriptions and are cancelled individually.
How to cancel Apple TV+ on iPhone or iPad#
This works for anyone billed by Apple, which covers most people.
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Choose Apple TV.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find it.
- Confirm.
Apple says that if there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled. You'll see the date your access ends.
You can also reach the same list from the App Store app by tapping your profile picture, or on the web at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. For a full tour of that list, see our guide on how to cancel subscriptions on iPhone.
How to cancel Apple TV on the web, Mac, Apple TV 4K and Windows#
Apple gives a route for almost every device. Here's the summary, with steps below.
| Device | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| iPhone, iPad or Vision Pro | Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Apple TV |
| Any web browser | tv.apple.com → account icon → Settings → Subscriptions → Manage |
| Mac | App Store → your account → Subscriptions |
| Apple TV 4K | Settings → Profiles and Accounts → your profile → Subscriptions |
| Windows PC | Apple TV app or Apple Music app → account → Settings → Subscriptions |
| Android (Apple billing) | account.apple.com |
| Android (Google Play billing) | Apple TV app on Android, or play.google.com |
On the web#

- Select the account icon and choose Settings.
- Scroll to Subscriptions and choose Manage.
- Choose Cancel Subscription.
Apple says that if you can't cancel at tv.apple.com, cancel in Settings on your device instead. You can also sign in at account.apple.com on any browser and manage subscriptions there.
On a Mac#
- Open the App Store.
- Click your account in the sidebar.
- Open Subscriptions (you may need to sign in).
- Choose Apple TV and click Cancel Subscription.
On an Apple TV 4K#
- Open Settings.
- Go to Profiles and Accounts, choose your profile, then Subscriptions.

On a Windows PC#
- Open the Apple TV app or Apple Music app for Windows.
- Open your account, then Settings.
- Next to Subscriptions, click Manage.
- Choose the subscription, click Edit, then Cancel Subscription.
On Android, a smart TV or a games console#
If you subscribed on Android but Apple bills you, sign in at account.apple.com in your browser and cancel from the subscriptions section.
If Google Play bills you, Apple says you can cancel only in the Apple TV app on your Android device or at play.google.com. In the Play Store, that's profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Apple TV → Cancel subscription. Our guide on cancelling subscriptions on Android and Google Play has more.
On a smart TV, streaming stick or console, the easiest route is usually the web steps on your phone or computer. If you can't tell who bills you, the next section helps.
If Amazon, your carrier, Peacock or Apple One provides Apple TV#
Apple TV is often included in or sold through something else. In these cases Apple's subscriptions list may show it, but the cancel button won't be where you expect.
| How you get Apple TV | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| Billed by Apple | Apple subscriptions list (any method above) |
| Through Amazon | Amazon only |
| Through Google Play | Apple TV app on Android, or play.google.com |
| Wireless carrier or other provider | The carrier or provider |
| Apple TV and Peacock bundle | Peacock |
| Apple One | Change or cancel your Apple One plan |
Through Amazon#
Apple says that if you pay for Apple TV through Amazon, you can cancel only through Amazon. Sign in to your Amazon account and look for your memberships and subscriptions or your Prime Video channels.
Through your wireless carrier or another provider#
Some phone plans include Apple TV. Apple's support page on carrier subscriptions says you can find your carrier in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and to contact your carrier or provider for support. If you pay Apple directly and also get Apple TV from your carrier, Apple says to cancel one to avoid duplicate charges.
Through the Apple TV and Peacock bundle#
Apple and NBCUniversal launched an Apple TV and Peacock bundle in the US in October 2025. Apple's support page says that to unsubscribe, you manage the bundled subscription through Peacock. See our guide on how to cancel Peacock for those steps.
Through Apple One#
Apple TV is part of Apple One, so you can't cancel it on its own while you're on Apple One. You can switch to a different Apple One plan, or cancel Apple One and subscribe to individual services instead. Apple One appears in the same Subscriptions list.
When you join Apple One, Apple says your existing individual subscriptions to included services (except iCloud+) are cancelled automatically when you're billed for Apple One, with a prorated refund. So if you just moved to Apple One, you usually don't need to cancel Apple TV separately, but it's worth checking the list to confirm.
Through a family member#
Apple says you can't cancel a family member's subscription. If you use Apple TV through Family Sharing, the person who pays has to cancel it. Our guide to Apple Family Sharing subscriptions explains how that works.
What happens after you cancel Apple TV#
- You keep watching until the end of the period you've paid for. That's standard for subscriptions billed by Apple. The end date shows in your Subscriptions list.
- You won't be charged again unless you resubscribe.
- Downloads stop playing once access ends.
- Your Apple Account and the Apple TV app stay. You can still use the app for purchases, rentals and other channels.
- Free trials need cancelling early. Apple advises cancelling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends. If your trial came with a new Apple device, put the trial end date in your calendar the day you start it.
Cancelling doesn't refund the current period. If you think a charge was a mistake, you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides, and refunds aren't guaranteed. Our guide on App Store subscription refunds walks through it.
A worked example#
Say Apple TV costs $10 a month (a round example, not Apple's current price). A year is $10 × 12 = $120.
If you only subscribe for the months a series you follow is airing, say three months, you pay $10 × 3 = $30 and save $120 − $30 = $90 a year.
The catch is the extra months that slip by because you forgot. Two forgotten months cost $10 × 2 = $20, which cuts your $90 saving to $70. A reminder before each renewal fixes that.
How to resubscribe to Apple TV#
Coming back takes a minute. Open the Apple TV app or tv.apple.com, sign in with the same Apple Account and choose to subscribe. Use the same Apple Account you had before so your library and settings carry over.
Before you confirm, check the price, since it changes over time, and whether an offer or trial is attached. If it is, note the date it turns into a paid plan.
Troubleshooting: when you can't cancel Apple TV#
| What you see | What it usually means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No "Apple TV+" in the list | It's now called Apple TV | Look for Apple TV |
| No Cancel button, or red expiry text | Already cancelled | Nothing more to do |
| Apple TV not in your list at all | Another Apple Account, a family member, or another company bills you | Search email for an Apple receipt; check your statement |
| Listed under your carrier | Your carrier provides it | Contact the carrier |
| Can't cancel at tv.apple.com | Web route not available for your account | Use Settings on your device |
| Two Apple TV charges | Direct plus carrier, bundle or Apple One overlap | Cancel the duplicate |
Apple's tip for a missing subscription: search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple" and check which Apple Account it went to. If there's no Apple receipt, another company bills you, so check your bank or card statement. If a charge still makes no sense, contact your bank or card issuer.
Keep track of when Apple TV renews#
Apple TV is easy to forget because it often arrives as a trial with a new device, then quietly becomes a paid plan months later.
When you start a trial or subscribe, add the renewal date to your calendar. If you'd rather keep everything in one place, Monthlee tracks subscriptions and free trials in one list, warns you before a trial turns into a paid plan and reminds you before each charge. It doesn't need a bank login.
The bottom line#
To cancel Apple TV+ (now called Apple TV), go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Apple TV → Cancel Subscription on your iPhone, or use tv.apple.com on a computer. If it isn't there, check whether Amazon, Google Play, your carrier, the Peacock bundle, Apple One or a family member's account provides it, and cancel with them.
You keep watching until the paid period ends. For trials, cancel at least a day before the trial ends, and keep an eye out for the new name in your lists.
Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel Apple TV+ on my iPhone?
Open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Choose Apple TV (the service formerly called Apple TV+) and tap Cancel Subscription. If you don't see a Cancel button, the subscription may already be cancelled or billed by someone else.
Is Apple TV+ still called Apple TV+?
No. Apple now calls the subscription service Apple TV, and its own materials describe it as formerly Apple TV+. The Apple TV app and the Apple TV 4K box still use the same name, which is why the subscription can be harder to spot in lists.
How do I cancel Apple TV on the web?
Go to tv.apple.com and sign in, select your account icon and choose Settings. Scroll to Subscriptions, choose Manage, then choose Cancel Subscription. If that doesn't work, Apple says to cancel in your device's Settings instead.
Why can't I find Apple TV in my subscriptions?
It may be billed through Amazon, Google Play, your wireless carrier, the Apple TV and Peacock bundle, Apple One, or a different Apple Account, such as a family member's. Search your email for an Apple receipt to see which account was used, and check your statement for who's billing you.
When should I cancel an Apple TV free trial?
Apple advises cancelling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you don't want it to renew. Cancelling earlier is safest, and you can do it the same day you start the trial.
Know every charge before it lands.
